Nutrition crisis in the Sahel
Even though the worst of the crisis has been weathered due to the emergency response and government action, the impact on vulnerable households remains a key concern. Many children under five years old are still at risk of acute malnutrition or even severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and in need of life-saving treatment. Please help us reach vulnerable children in the Sahel and worldwide. Donate now.
More than 850,000 children were treated for SAM in 2012. "What we want to do is to draw the world's attention to the plight of the children in the Sahel. We want to make sure that people are aware of what's happening before it's too late," said UNICEF Director of Emergency Programmes Louis-Georges Arsenault.
We need your help to be there for children in the Sahel and around the world wherever they need us. Donate now to help us reach them .
